Camp Montessori is specifically designed for those children moving from the Toddler level to Children’s House the following fall.
It is a summer filled with exploration of the Children’s House classroom, while learning some of the basic expectations at this level. The children will be working in Practical Life and Sensorial while also exploring new areas such as art, music and science.
Camp Discovery is for children who were in Children’s House the school year prior. It is their opportunity to continue to work in the Montessori classroom and to continue to progress academically. They will have a chance to solidify their knowledge in academic areas such as language, reading, and math. They will get to work on new materials, while spending time on their old favorites.
Camp Discovery is also a time for children to explore other areas of the classroom that they don’t spend as much time in. They will expand their knowledge of music, art & artists, cooking, sewing, and science experimentation. It is also a time for them to work with their favorite things in Practical Life and to create new Sensorial extensions. As part of our exploration, we will visit countries from the continents we had the pleasure of studying in the school year. We will further learn about the cuisine, art and the cultural aspects of those countries. The summer will also be highlighted with water play other activities to keep the body moving!
